Ashley Austin

Ashley received her BA from Hope College where she studied Business Management and Spanish. Ashley comes from Latin American roots, but her interest peaked after spending time in Honduras on two different occasions earlier this year. She originally visited to learn about microfinance and the Honduran coffee industry and came back to volunteer her time, photography skills and stove-building talent. She mentions that what captivated her the most was the children and she knew she had to return. Ashley has a wealth of experience working with children in athletic programs, but is looking forward to working in the classroom and embracing Honduran culture. "I've always loved working with children. I look forward to a great year with BECA."
